How much would these hockey cards be worth?

Fan Of Shinoda Reloaded asked:
My friend just inherited a massive collection of hockey cards, all in excellent condition, some autographed by the player, some framed in those glass-like frames for valuable cards, and a pack of about 500 or more that were not opened. Most of them are packed in a cardboard box unprotected (but still in great shape) and the others are in card albums, you know, those binders with the plastic pages for placing cards in. In total, there are over 5000 cards. How much would his collection be worth? Would it depend on who he sells them to? He’s got all kinds of cards, possibly many duplicates too.
Well, no shit I’d need to find a card collector to ask, that’s what my friend’s going to do, but I want to know how much his collection will be worth without the wait of getting enough gas to go to the city and find a card collector. Come on, we live in a small town with low income here, we’re barely getting by, and you snobby rich bitches don’t give a fuck.
