First thing before go on and enroll in a hockey school, make sure to prepare yourself. It’s important to prepare for hockey school by yourself because you will be able to adjust to the system better. If you can adjust easier, then you will spend more time increase hickey skills rather than trying to get used to the routine.

Preparation for enrollment in hockey school begins with making sure you are in top condition. Because of this, it would be very good for you to set a daily training routine even if only for a couple of hours. You can concentrate on building up your strength three times a day and use another three days to practice balancing exercises and other moves that are necessary in hockey. If you live near a pond during the winter season, then by all means spend time here and practice your routine. If it is the warmer months, then you could simply practice in a hockey or ice skating rink instead. The bottom line is, prior to your enrollment in hockey school you need to spend a lot of time practicing your skills.

Second, preparation for enrollment in hockey school will mean hitting the books. Hockey is not just about brute force, but also about mental tactics. Apart from this, you should also read up on basic foundation moves in hockey. These are the ones that are going to be taken up in hockey school if you are a first timer – but if they see that you are more advanced in terms of skills and knowledge then you could probably skip this area already and move on one placement higher.

Third, it is also imperative that you get your schedules in order. Hockey school will bring about some changes in your daily routine, so you will want to organize everything in order to get the most idea schedule around. Hockey school has daily training for at least one and a half hours per day. Add your commute to and from hockey school, time spent preparing before training and getting your stuff ready for leaving and you probably have for yourself three hours devoted to this activity alone.

If you are a student, organize a study schedule so you will not be left behind in school. When you get home from hockey school you might feel a bit tired and thus might end up sleeping instead of studying. This might cause some problems later on, so make sure you attend to it. When you can figure out your optimum times for hockey and the other important stuff you have, then you can say that you are well prepared for hockey school.
