How long do I have to wait to play hockey after getting a tattoo?

Im getting a band of letters around my forearm all the way around, about an inch below my elbow, i also play hockey and wear an arm pad, the pad would go right over that and I’m wondering if I can still play without harming the tat. I know the normal healing is 14-21 days, but i’d miss 2-6 games depending. Thanks in advance.

when you first get it be sure to keep it moist like the artist instructs you to do, when you are playing be sure to wrap it in some saran wrap and put an ace bandage around that to make sure it stays on and stays moist…this will help avoid too much rubbing on the pad…as long as it doesn’t get scratched or rubbed too hard you should be ok…just be as careful as you can…i bet the padding will help protect it more than you think…just be careful…and maybe if you can take off one game you will be able to heal it a bit…

avoid it for the first few days…but it should be fine

It’s probably better for you to miss those games to be honest. Your tattoo needs to breathe, excessive sweating from sporting events will do you no favors. Also the rubbing and pressure could loosen scabs and cause the ink to come out.
